The Saint Louis Art Museum, located in St. Louis, Missouri, is one the principal U.S art museums. Built by architect Cass Gilbert, the museum's three-storey building, was originally built as the Palace of Fine Arts for the 1904 World's Fair. Admission is free; however, for admission in featured exhibitions, there might be a nominal fee.

The St. Louis Art Museum is open on all days of the week, except Mondays. Daily public tours of the museum and its collection, commences in Information Centre in the Sculpture Hall and lasts one hour approximately. The daily tours are available Tuesday through Friday and on the weekends. However, on the weekends, the tour starts a little late.

Group tours can be arranged by contacting the museum authorities at least four weeks before the desired date. You can either request a docent for assistance during your tour or you can arrange a self-guided tour. However, group tours can be arranged for minimum 15 people or kids and should have adequate adult supervision.

The collection of St. Louis Art Museum has over 30,000 artworks ranging from antiquity to present. The collection of modern art includes work by Van Gogh, Picasso and Matisse. 1) Museum Shop

The Museum Shop offers volunteer opportunities for those who are interested in retail sales. Qualified individuals must possess a high school diploma. Cash register and sales experience are a must. The position has flexible working hours, including evening, weekend and holiday hours.

2) Visitor and Member Services

St. Louis Art Museum is now seeking volunteers for Visitor and Members Services. These volunteers try to enhance the visitors' experience by performing a wide array of tasks, including extending warm welcome and assistance with directions and accurate info about services, exhibitions and activities at the museum.

3) Family Programs
