1) I.T. Technician
The PC Technician manages to support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops and peripherals. Qualified candidates must have college diploma or university degree and 4 years equivalent work experience. Strong knowledge of computers and local area networks are essential. Candidates must be able to conduct research into computer issues and related products.
2) On Call Preschool Assistant Educator
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Art History, Art Education or Early Childhood Education. You're required to have minimum of 2 years teaching preschool age children. Applicants must have a comprehensive understanding of pre-school age children and the educational system, including its principles.
3) Part-time Collection Database Assistant
The position aims to scan collection related files and help with the image and database cleanup assignments. Minimum high school diploma is required. Candidates must be experienced in data entry and computers. Excellent communication skills are a must.
4) Part-Time Gallery Attendant
Gallery attendants take charge of monitoring the museum's public areas with a purpose to ensure the safety of visitors, collections and contents. High school diploma or equivalent is needed. Candidates must have the ability to deal with staff and guests politely and courteously. The position requires weekend shifts and has starting rate of $8.43 per hour. 5) Part Time Research Assistant
A research assistant is needed in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art. The position assists with the Curator and Assistant Curator of Modern and Contemporary art, including research for future exhibitions and installations of permanent collections. Volunteers play an important role in the St. Louis Art Museum and help to engage museum visitors in enriching and terrific art experiences at the museum. Volunteers really make a difference in supporting the arts. At the same time, you can learn practical new skills and experiences and meet various people with similar interests. Various options are available for volunteers.
1) Museum Shop
The Museum Shop offers volunteer opportunities for those who are interested in retail sales. Qualified individuals must possess a high school diploma. Cash register and sales experience are a must. The position has flexible working hours, including evening, weekend and holiday hours.
2) Visitor and Member Services
St. Louis Art Museum is now seeking volunteers for Visitor and Members Services. These volunteers try to enhance the visitors' experience by performing a wide array of tasks, including extending warm welcome and assistance with directions and accurate info about services, exhibitions and activities at the museum.
3) Family Programs
If you have interest in art education and community outreach, try volunteer opportunities offered by the Museum's Public Programs and Education Department. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. The position requires one or more Sunday afternoon work per month.
4) Docents
To deepen visitors' experience, docents are needed to lead tours to explain the collections for visitors of all ages. Volunteers are required to have a commitment of a two-year initial training program, ongoing training and 25 tours each year.
