The city has over 50 parks and is filled with greenery. Spread over different areas in the city, the most famous parks are-The Forest Park, Laumeier Sculpture Park, Tower Grove Park and the Missouri Botanical Garden. The various parks are open throughout the year, except Christmas Day, and don't require any such entry fee. The Forest park, is arguably, the most visited park and houses the famous St. Louis Art Museum.
The St. Louis County Parks, maintained by the 'St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation', is spread over 13,000 acres and are visited by over 10 million people every year. Featuring 63 parks and spread all over the city, the St. Louis County Parks provide a wide variety of leisure and recreational facilities and promises to entertainment people of all ages.
The parks are hosts to various events all throughout the year. Musical Concerts, Social Gatherings, Carnivals and other various events are held throughout the year in the parks. Moreover, some of the parks also boast of various recreational facilities such as children playgrounds, tennis courts, designated picnic areas, fishing spots and athletic fields. Most of the events and concerts held in the parks are free and open to public.
