
Metro Train
When you travel Saint Louis Missouri you would understand the efficiency of its public transport system. Any mode of transport is at it's best in Saint Louis. The Metro train in particular is to be mentioned when talking about public transport. The rail in Saint Louis has two lines. It covers 73.3 km through the entire city. The rail is mostly at the surface but also elevated at certain places and has subways in many other parts.
The Metrolink is a light rail system running in the city. It has basically 2 lines, the Red and Blue. Bi-State Development Agency operates the MetroLink and since 2003 it is known as the Metro. The Metro has 37 stations and close to 61573 people use it on an average every day. The Metro (Red Line) started functioning in 1993 and more than $15 billion has been spent on it for various transit oriented development projects.

The Blue line started operations much later in 2006. This line is about 12.9 Km and has 9 stations. There is a study undertaken to understand the extension of the Blue line but it hasn't progressed beyond that so far. Both the Red and the Blue line operate for 14 stations together after they meet at Forest Park-Debaliviere. After the journey together the Blue Line ends its journey at Fairview Heights. The Metro is doing wonders for the people of Saint Louis by helping them get to work on time by giving a skip to traffic congestions. It has also boosted the economy of the place tremendously. The Metro works extremely well by being on time and providing efficient service to its users. A trip to Saint Louis would not be complete without travelling by the Metro.
